Antique English silverplate biscuit box, circa 1890s by the silversmiths Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. of Sheffield, England.Originally for English tea biscuits, the barrel could also house your favourite tea, or provide an elegant solution to where to put an extra roll of toilet paper in a guest bathroom.
Measurements: approx 8” to top of finial, 10" wide edge to edge x 7 1/4" wide. Container itself without lid is 6" long x 4 3/4" wide x 4 3/4" deep, with lid 6" tall without finial.
Marks: A tower with the word “Capital” which is one of the trademarks for Hawksworth, Eyre &Co
This biscuit box is in good antique condition. May have typical signs of vintage use such as slight surface scratches, some spots on the inside (doesn't affect it's use). No obvious damage
