Antique, mid 19th century, Thai silver, offering bowl with Chinese Zodiac repoussed and chased on it. The top and bottom bands are clouds (Mek) with zig zag pattern. The surface of the bowl is finely detailed with embossed, chased and repoussé decoration depicting the Chinese Zodiac. There are many animals including a rabbit, snake, goat, elephant, monkey, and more. The item isn't marked, but tests as 900 plus silver.
Measurements: approx 8" diameter x 4 1/2" tall. Weighs 435 grams
Marks: The inscription is in Thai but loosely translates "Srinakon or (Nakhon Sri an area where much of this silver was crafted) 30 Baht weight.
This bowl is in good antique condition. No dents. May have some tarnish and some residue on the inside. No obvious damage.
