Truly beautiful, antique, Cambodian Silver, bird and rabbit, betel nut box. Made in the traditional Khmer silver work. Made around the turn of the century. Each box is hand-formed of sheet silver and then hand chased and repousse added over copper. Each betel box has a lot of detail. Use the zoom feature to see. These boxes traditionally held betel leaves, nuts, leaves, tobacco and/ or ointments. Original condition. I made no attempt to clean as can be seen in the pictures of some residue at the bottom inside. Very rare to find these larger sizes. Your chance to own a piece of history and beauty.
Measurements: Bird approx 7" long x 3 1/2" wide x 3 1/4" tall. Rabbit measures approx: 5 5/8" long x 3" wide x 3 1/2" tall.
Marks: I couldn't find any marks, but there is so much decoration that I might be overlooking it.
The betel boxes are in good antique condition. Has typical signs of use such as light surface scratches and residue (as mentioned earlier). No obvious damage.
