Exquisite, antique, silver plate, epergne with figural griffin/ dragon by Elkington & Co circa 1864. This piece is in amazing condition. It has one center bowl and 3 smaller bowls on arms. The arms attach to the base with a figural griffin/ dragon (Koi fish). Has ornate detailing on the base and beautiful beading edge on each of the cups. Very solid piece, it weighs almost 6 lbs! Amazing piece to add to your decor.
Measurements: approx 15 1/4" tall x 13 1/2" from one cup to the other, 9 1/4" diameter base. Center cup measures 4 1/2" diameter, outer cups measure 2 1/2" diameter.
Marks: The makers stamp for Elkington & Co and the date mark for 1864
This epergne is in amazing antique condition--especially for for its age and use. Has expected signs of age and use such as light surface scratches, possible spots of tarnish and polish residue. No plating loss anywhere that I can see. Still extremely shiny and must have been very well taken care of. Please use the zoom feature to see more details as they are part of the description.
