Exquisite, rare, antique, silver plate, medallion/ portrait, serving tray/ salver by Redfield and Rice circa 1860s. The face has beautiful detailing of scrolls and fleur de lys with medallion portraits of Greek soldiers. The rim looks like it's entwined with a decorative ribbon and the corners a paisley design. Just stunning. Mady by Redfield and Rice between 1863-1872 (the years the company was in business). Trays were not as common in this era as they weren't a necessary part of a coffee and tea service. That is why we don't come across them near as often as we do other items. This tray is still in wonderful, antique condition. Very shiny with no plating loss. This tray is a gorgeous piece of history. It's solid and heavy and can be used and displayed for generations to come.
Measurements: approx 14" long x 11" wide
Marks: Has faint remnants of Redfield & Rice on one of the bottom corners
The tray is in great antique condition. May show some signs of wear like light scratches and a more noticeable scratch (or stain?) on the back. No obvious damage I can see.
