Antique, silver plate/ silver soldered, coffee urn/ samovar/ dispenser circa early 1900s. Holds approx 75 cups (6 oz cups)! This coffee urn appears to be silver soldered meaning it has a lot more silver plating and more than likely used in a hotel or restaurant. The extra large body is cylindrical and has a rose and floral decor along the rim and has the same decor on the lion footed legs and handles. Fully functional and only missing the alcohol burner. Even without, water stayed very hot for a few hours while I was cleaning it. I believe this holds approximately 815 fluid oz (I used the measurements to approximate so it's not 100% accurate since the urn widens from top to bottom), which is approx 75 6oz cups of coffee/ tea--possibly more--feel free to use the measurements and do your own math. :-). Absolutely gorgeous and heavy. Perfect on display and to use at events, parties or at your business location.
Measurements: approx 21" tall to top of lid. 17" tall without lid. 10 1/2" diameter at its widest. 13" handle to handle. Approx 14" from back of urn to tip of spout. The burner holder measures approx 3 1/2" inner diameter. Bottom diameter of fluid holding section 10", top diameter 9" and height 11 1/2".
Makers Mark: None found but may have worn away
The coffee/ tea urn is in great antique condition. Shows some standard signs of age and use such as tiny dings, surface scratches, possible tarnish and polish residue. Has scratches and marks that are usual with silver soldered items as well as some larger scratches. Underside shows a little bit of expected darkness where the heat from burner was. The inside is clean, but stained from years of holding tannin rich coffee/ tea. The insides are better than in the picture as there was some residual polish I forgot to wipe out. No obvious damage
Please Note: This listing is for the coffee urn only.
