Rare, original, Dave's Corner Luncheon Restaurant, New York, silver soldered, sugar bowl from 1940s. Once located at Canal St and Broadway, this is the same restaurant known for it's famous "improved egg cream" and " Dave's Lime Cream". This is a lidded sugar bowl that once functioned that the lid would open when the handle was swung back. That piece is missing, but it still functions manually. This luncheonette closed sometime in the 80s. Very few of these left around especially in this great of condition. Here's your chance to own a piece of history.
Marks: L. Barth & Co Inc Silver Soldered 1526
Measurements: approx 7" tall with extended handle, 3 1/4" tall to top of lid x 4 1/2" diameter at its widest.
This sugar bowl is in good vintage condition for it's age and use. Show some signs of age such as light surface scratches and the usual marks/ tiny dings inherent to silver soldered items. No obvious damage that I can see outside of missing piece.
